How do I get to the career information?

You can get to Career Cruising's career profiles in several different ways:

Search by School Subject:

Choose a school subject. The program will generate a list of careers related to that subject.

Search by Cluster:

Choose a career cluster that interests you (e.g. "Arts and Culture" or "Skilled Trades"). The program will generate a list of careers related to that cluster.

Search by Index:

Find specific occupations quickly by using our alphabetical index.

All of these options can be accessed from the Explore Careers Page.

How do I get to the multimedia interviews?

The multimedia interviews are part of the career profiles, so first you have to select the career that you want to learn about. There are two interviews per career. You can get to these interviews by clicking on the names at the bottom left hand corner of the career profile screens.

For example, as part of the anthropologist career profile, you can meet Andrew and Karen, two real anthropologists.

In total, Career Cruising contains over 800 interviews.

How should I use the College and
 University Database?

Many of the careers profiled in Career Cruising require a university degree or college diploma. These educational requirements can be found in the Education section of the career profiles.

Once you have learned what kind of education is required to prepare for a career, you can go to the College and University Database to find out where to get it.

How was the information in this program compiled?

Schools Information
The Schools Database contains information and updates supplied by universities, colleges and other institutes. While every effort is made to ensure information is current and complete, the information is subject to change and should be used as a guide only. Users are advised to contact the appropriate universities, colleges or institutes for updates or changes.

Career Information
The information in the career profiles was researched and written by a team of professional writers and journalists. They gathered information from government publications, professional associations, trade unions, universities, community colleges, vocational institutes, existing career guidance resources, interviews with people in the careers in question, and many other sources.

While every effort is made to ensure information is current and complete, the information is subject to change and should therefore be used as a guide only. Users are advised to do their own career research and speak to people from different careers in their own area. Career Cruising provides an excellent introduction to many occupations, but further research into one's career choices is always a worthwhile investment.
